Low Sodium Barbecue Sauce Recipe

If you or someone in your home needs to cut back on salt, but doesn't want to sacrifice the flavor of favorite condiments, try making your own! Try this low sodium BBQ sauce recipe.

Ingredients

    • 1 1/2 cups water
    • 5 Tbsp. brown sugar
    • 2 1/2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 1/2 cups low-sodium ketchup
    • 2/3 cup cider vinegar

Preparation

    • p>Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan, and bring to a boil over moderately high heat. Cover pan and simmer gently for about 1-1/2 hours until sauce thickens, stirring occasionally. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator. Makes about 2 cups.
