Careers

Volunteer

At Mercy Health Partners campuses, you don’t have to be a doctor or nurse to help us deliver outstanding care.  We need the help of our community and that’s where you come in. If you have some extra time available to help others and you enjoy the flexibility of volunteering, we would love to hear from you.

Every day, hundreds of patients and loved ones, including family members and friends, are enriched by volunteers. The touch of a hand, a smiling face and a gentle voice are things long remembered after recovery.

Close to 500 active and dedicated men and women give well over 39,000 hours each year at Mercy Health Partners facilities. Their commitment is a vital part of the healing mission of patients, their families and the community.

Volunteering a minimum of 8 hours per month (or more) can make a big difference in someone else’s life, as well as your own.  Share your time and talent with others and feel good about giving back to the community.  Whether you are an active, “on the go” personality or want more of a “sit down” role, there’s a place for you.

You can choose from a variety of service areas at either Mercy or Hackley:

  • Surgery Waiting Host/Hostess

  • Courtesy Coach Driver

  • Clerical

  • Johnson Family Cancer Center

  • Clerical Courier

  • Admitting Escort

  • Information Desk

  • Gift Shops

  • Lobbyside Diner

  •  …and more

Job Shadowing

It is a goal of Mercy Health Partners to provide educational experience and encourage students to consider healthcare as a career choice. Through our school-required job shadow program, students are allowed to observe employees in the performance of their duties within established guidelines.

To qualify for a job shadow experience, you must make the request through the Volunteer Services Department and your student must be at least 16 years of age.

Once you have made the initial inquiry, the Volunteer Services office will provide the job shadow guidelines. These requirements ensure that your student(s) have a successful and meaningful experience.

To inquire about job shadow opportunities, contact Kathy Daly, Volunteer Manager at 231-728-4711.
