24 Hour Emergency Services at Mercy Health Lakeshore Campus
Emergency care at Mercy Health Lakeshore Campus is available 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Our emergency room staff takes pride in caring for nearly 10,000 patients a year. These patients come from all age groups and represent not only life threatening emergencies, but also the more minor, unexpected injures and illnesses that can occur so suddenly.
Each patient is given a brief medical screening by a nurse who determines how acute the patient's condition is. The patient is then seen in the order that their condition dictates. This allows for our patients to be seen as rapidly as possible while allowing staff to appropriately and efficiently respond to all healthcare emergencies. When necessary, a patient is transferred to a specialty service at a tertiary care center by ambulance or air transport.
The Emergency Room at Lakeshore is designated as a Level III center. The emergency room doctors and nurses are specifically trained in emergent and urgent care. The emergency room support staff of technicians and therapists maintain credentials in their own subspecialties.
