Imaging Services That Enable Accurate Diagnosis
Effective treatment begins with a proper diagnosis, and we have the latest in imaging technology to help our team pinpoint your condition –– and provide timely results.
Our radiologists are all board certified, and are ready to provide the best care possible.
Among our services:
- General Radiology
- Fluoroscopy
- CT (Computed Tomography)
64-Slice Computerized Tomography (CT) Scanner
64-Slice CT Scanner technology takes an image of the body structure—bone, vessels, muscle, skin—and its images are transferred into 3-D for a highly realistic view. This technology is extremely quick and highly accurate, decreasing the amount of radiation a patient is exposed to. It can be an important aid in assessing complex traumas, as well as ruling out certain cardiac diagnoses.
The 64-Slice CT Scanner allows physicians to find blockages in the carotid and coronary arteries; uncover aneurysms in the brain, abdomen and extremities; and provide the same information as an angiogram. Physicians will also be able to more specifically evaluate the size of a patient’s tumor and its relationship to other structures.
- Geeral Ultrasound
- Vascular Ultrasound
- Echocardiography
- Bone Densitometry
- Mammography
- MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
The Open MRI features an innovative design, which greatly enhances patient comfort, especially when compared to the traditional tube-style MRI systems. Our Open MRI helps to:
- Minimize the claustrophobic effect and reduce patient anxiety
- Provide healthcare professionals complete patient access
- Accommodate larger than average patients, (the exam table can hold up to 550 pounds)
The entire unit was designed with the patient’s comfort in mind. Warm colors cover the walls, and floor to ceiling windows surround the MRI system adding to the “open” experience.
The quality of the images produced by the new equipment is also remarkable. Unlike the traditional MRI units, the Open MRI system at MHP can capture images of the extremities. Even the tiny bones of the wrist, which are typically hard to see, can be viewed with this machine.
This tool will be invaluable for diagnosing emergency, trauma, and cardiovascular patients. Radiologists also believe the MRI system will help detect cancerous lesions found in the breast that would not typically show up on a mammogram. With this advanced technology physicians at MHP will obtain faster results allowing more rapid diagnosis and treatment for patients.
Interesting fact about the Open MRI:
The MRI unit has a 92,000-pound magnet with seven times the Earth’s gravitational pull.
