Memory Clinic
As the oldest, full-time memory clinic in West Michigan, we first opened our doors in 1983. Since then, we've prided ourselves on our multidisciplinary approach to assessing memory loss. The time we spend with each patient is crucial, and we look at memory loss issues from every available angle so that we can make the most accurate diagnosis possible.
The final diagnosis is based on information gathered from four different specialized areas of mental and medical health care; Neurology, Psychology, Nursing and Social Work.
We take pride in the time and care we can spend on each person's memory issues. There is no test that can diagnose Alzheimer's disease reliably. Therefore, we approach the problem from every angle so that we can be as sure as possible about what we think might be going on.
We also are happy to have people back in one, two, or even five years after we have seen them. Most people return to their family doctor after seeing us but our door is open.
All examinations and tests we perform are recommended by the American Neurological Association.
We hold a free support group at the Memory Clinic on the third Thursday of each month from 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
